As I sit back and reflect on the past month or so I will have to admit. Yes, I am a slacker. I said I would write often about my adventures as I grow. Well, what can I say. I've been busy doing so much like learning to roll over, learning new sounds, discover cool things like my hands, cutting teeth. Doing all these things makes the time fly by fast and I just haven't had time to write. And let's face it. Sometimes I just get plain lazy!
I really was going to write an update last week but I got sick. Not fun being sick. I'm having to take this stuff called antibotics. It's not the best but I pretend to like it to make it easy on mommy and daddy when they give it to me. I'm also having to take breathing treatments. I really didn't like taking those but then I saw mommy give it to my friend Mr. Monkey. He really liked taking them, in fact he seemed to think it was fun. So I decided if he thought breathing treatments were fun then by golly, they were going to be fun. And you know what, they aren't so bad now.
Anyway, it's been a while and I'm feeling sad because I promised someone that I would write a blog and make sure to include them in it. I kept making excuses as to why I hadn't written a new blog and now it's time to quit making excuses and make good on my promises.
So I want to give a special shout out to my Uncle Keith. He's the best uncle a kid could ask for. He even lets me ride on his cool bike. Check out my cool do-rag!
So shout out Uncle Keith! I'll see you Thursday and we'll celebrate my very first Turkey Day and your birthday. I won't tell everyone how many of those you have celebrated ;-)

Sick, Shocked and Sleepy
Holy cow! Has it really been over three weeks since the last time I wrote? Time sure does fly when you are having fun. So much has happened I don't even know where to begin. Let's start with Sick.
The Tuesday after Labor Day Daddy had to fly to California. He was really nervous about leaving me and Mommy alone for the first time. I assured him that as the official "man of the house" while he was gone I would take care of everything. So off he goes to the airport and Mommy and I head to the daycare. Now, you know how you build stuff up in your head and have this great vision of how things are going to be. I was going to be a big boy and take care of Mommy while Daddy was gone. I was going to be SUPER BABY!!!
Well, it wasn't long after that when uh oh, it was discovered that I was running a fever. A FEVER! I can't have no stinking fever! I've got to be the man of the house while Daddy is away! Next thing I know they are calling Mommy and she is coming to get me. Granted, I enjoyed spending the rest of the day with Mommy, but I was disappointed because I was supposed to be looking after Mommy, not the other way around. But wait! Things started looking up. Because I had a fever, I couldn't go to daycare the next day. So Mommy talked to Ruby's Mommy and I got to stay with her! Ruby and I had a great time. Thank you to Ruby's grandma for taking care of me. I really had fun! My fever got better so I was able to go back to daycare. Daddy got home that Friday. We were so happy to see him. He said he really missed us and was glad to be home. We were glad he was home too.
Moving on to shocked. That Saturday our friends Vivian and C.W. came by. They were on their way to Emerald Isle for the week. I got to spend some time with them. We talked and played and had a good time. Hope ya'll had a great time at the beach! Come back and see us soon. Not long after they left Nana and Poppy came for the weekend. We were all excited because they had planned to come a couple of weeks before but something came up. Well, they were not here very long before they told us some shocking news and all I can say is....

We are all still pretty shocked and confused but things are getting better. We want Nana and Poppy both to know that we love them very much!
After that weekend we needed some fun so last Sunday Mommy, Daddy and I drove down to Topsail Island to visit Mamaw. She's down there for the week with a bunch of her lady friends. Ahhh, nothing like being loved on by a bunch of ladies! We went to the New River Cafe for lunch. YUM! And then we hung out at the house for the afternoon.
A good time was had by all but as you can see I was pooped. I slept all the way home!
That pretty much gets you up to date on what's going on in my corner of the world. I'll try not to let too much time go by before my next post.
Thanks for reading!

My Wacky Weekend
Hey, it's me. Henny B. I had quite a busy weekend. On Thursday, my Mamaw Merle and Aunt Angela came down for the weekend. I got to stay home from daycare on Friday. Although I missed my friends I had fun. I helped my Mamaw string green beans and then we went for a stroll around the neighborhood.
Saturday we decided to go to the beach. It was a really pretty day. We loaded up the car and headed off to the beach at Fort Macon and had a picnic. Everybody munched on chicken, biscuits and tomato sandwiches. Everyone that is but me, I had my bottle. I can't wait until I can eat the other stuff. It looks really good.
After we ate we went to the water. Here I am with my mommy and daddy. The beach was really crowded. Everyone was out enjoying the last weekend of summer.
After hanging out at the water for a little bit I was pooped, so I took a little nap in the shade. Zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz.
Once I woke up from my nap I was raring to go for some more fun. Let's go! Let's go!
My mamaw took me down to the water. I had all the ladies wanting to meet me. They thought I was quite handsome. That's me! Handsome Henry!
On the way home we stopped at Dairy Queen. Everyone got ice cream, but me. I really wish I could have more than just a bottle. Then we had to stop at the grocery store. Daddy and Mamaw went inside while me, Mommy and Aunt Angela waited in the car. I was really starting to get fussy. My mommy had to get me out and walk me around a little bit. But once we got home and I got a bath (shower with Daddy) and a bottle I was fine. Then it was off to sleep for me.
Sunday we just kind of hung out and relaxed. And then on Monday, Mamaw and Aunt Angela left to go home. I miss them already. I hung out with Mommy and Daddy the rest of the day. It was rainy all day long so we really couldn't do anything but stay inside and play. We took lots of naps too. Mommy worked on organizing her recipes (she thinks it will help her cook better, we'll see) and Daddy had to get ready for his trip to California. It's just going to be Mommy and me this week. Should be interesting!

Mamaw dipped my feet in the water. It was kind of chilly. Brrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr. Next year I'll be big enough to go into the water. I can't wait! Hopefully it will be a little bit warmer.

And We're Off!
Hey everybody. My name is Henry Gray Banks and this blog is all about me and my adventures as I grow up and make my way in this crazy world. It's going to be scary but it's going to be a whole lot of fun too!
I was born on June 8, 2009 at 2:23p.m. I weighed 7.5 lbs and was 20 inches long. I wasn't too happy about leaving the warm coziness of my mommy's tummy. When I arrived, I was in this cold and bright room and there were all these people around that I didn't know. They were sticking me with things and taking all these measurements. I didn't like it at all.
I have two really great parents. Their names are Chip and Kim but I call them Mommy and Daddy. They take really good care of me but they can be a little goofy sometimes. Ok, they can be goofy a lot. They love to sing me silly songs (I like it when daddy beat boxes) and make goofy faces. They make me smile a lot. They don't know it yet, but it won't take long before I have them wrapped around my little finger ;-)

Finally they quit poking at me. I got all wrapped up in a warm, cozy blanket and all was right with the world.

After spending a couple of days in the hospital Mommy and Daddy brought me home. This is where we live. I really like it here. There's lots of room for me to play. There's lots more room than I had before in my mommy's tummy.
When I got home I met my older brother Caesar and my older sister Cleo. They love me very much and I love them. They give me lots of kisses. They have stinky breath so I don't like it when they try to give me kisses on my face, but I don't mind them giving me kisses on my feet. One day, when I'm bigger, I'll be able to play fetch with them. I can't wait! It will be lots of fun!
I have my own room. My daddy built me this really cool crib to sleep in. My daddy has built lots of things. He's a really good wood worker. I can't wait until I get older so I can help him out in his shop. We are going to build lots of things together!
Here's my ride. Mommy and Daddy bought it after I was born because they wanted a reliable car to drive me around in. No offense Scooter, even though mommy misses you, you were on your last legs and she feels much better driving the new car (yet to be named). It goes really fast (especially when mommy is driving). I've got my own seat but I have to sit facing backwards. I don't like that very much because I can't see what's going on. Eventually I get to turn around but not until I'm a year old. It's going to be a long year.
Now you know everything there is to know about me, for now anyway. Stay tuned as I write all about my new adventures. I have a feeling I'm going to have a lot of fun growing up:-) But right now, after all this writing, I'm pooped.
