The Tuesday after Labor Day Daddy had to fly to California. He was really nervous about leaving me and Mommy alone for the first time. I assured him that as the official "man of the house" while he was gone I would take care of everything. So off he goes to the airport and Mommy and I head to the daycare. Now, you know how you build stuff up in your head and have this great vision of how things are going to be. I was going to be a big boy and take care of Mommy while Daddy was gone. I was going to be SUPER BABY!!!
Well, it wasn't long after that when uh oh, it was discovered that I was running a fever. A FEVER! I can't have no stinking fever! I've got to be the man of the house while Daddy is away! Next thing I know they are calling Mommy and she is coming to get me. Granted, I enjoyed spending the rest of the day with Mommy, but I was disappointed because I was supposed to be looking after Mommy, not the other way around. But wait! Things started looking up. Because I had a fever, I couldn't go to daycare the next day. So Mommy talked to Ruby's Mommy and I got to stay with her! Ruby and I had a great time. Thank you to Ruby's grandma for taking care of me. I really had fun! My fever got better so I was able to go back to daycare. Daddy got home that Friday. We were so happy to see him. He said he really missed us and was glad to be home. We were glad he was home too.
We are all still pretty shocked and confused but things are getting better. We want Nana and Poppy both to know that we love them very much!
After that weekend we needed some fun so last Sunday Mommy, Daddy and I drove down to Topsail Island to visit Mamaw. She's down there for the week with a bunch of her lady friends. Ahhh, nothing like being loved on by a bunch of ladies! We went to the New River Cafe for lunch. YUM! And then we hung out at the house for the afternoon.
A good time was had by all but as you can see I was pooped. I slept all the way home!
That pretty much gets you up to date on what's going on in my corner of the world. I'll try not to let too much time go by before my next post.
Thanks for reading!
Henry
